The District Rotaract Representative, Abdullahi A. AFOLABI led a team of Imaginative Rotaractors on a courtesy visit to the Imaginative District Governor, Rtn Omotunde LAWSON (FCAI).
The visit was to commemorate the district governor’s assumption of office which was witnessed by Past Rotaractors, Past District Rotaract Representatives, Distinguished Rotarians and Rotaractors of our dear district.
The District Governor in her address, commended the efforts of past District Rotaract Representatives and charged the Imaginative DRR not to go below the bar rather than raise the bar. As part of her goals for the year, which is a smooth Rotary – Rotaract Relationship, she has charged all Rotary Presidents to ensure they include Rotaract Clubs in their Year Plan as this will be one of the criteria for assessment at the end of the year
The District Governor also charged Rotaract clubs and the District to partner with Rotary Clubs in applying for Global grants in order to show prove our pride as being truly elevated. In the same vein, she urged Rotaractors to also remember they are Ambassadors of Rotaract, as such, they should always portray good habits and examples set by successful Rotaract leaders.
The Imaginative Board of Directors, Presidents and other guests were introduced to the District Governor. Thereafter, the District Rotaract Representative presented the full year proposed budgets and Master Plan to the District Governor and seek the mentorship and support of the Rotary district in making the dream a reality.
The District Rotaract Representative-Elect, Rtr. Abisogun Mujib raised a concern regarding Rotary clubs that are not exercising their responsibility towards their sponsor Rotaract clubs, the DG gave an assurance that she’ll do the needful and ensure every club is up and doing.
At the end of the visit, the Rotaract District 9110 WECARE TEAM led by Rtr. Ramon Shukurat presented a picture frame to the District Governor, joining the presentation were Rotarians and Rotaractors present.
