The Rotary International President, Shekhar Mehta in his early days speech emphasized that Clubs should do more of service project and Girl Child Empowerment.
In tandem to the RI President’s vision, Rotaract District embarked on a Girl Child Project tagged “PAD A GIRL CHILD” at Odogunyan Senior Grammar School, Ikorodu on Wednesday 24th November, 2021.
The project is in collaboration with Rotaract District Administrative Officer, Rotaractor Taiwo Oladosu who partnered with the District to celebrate his birthday.
The project involved sensitization and donation of pads to at least 256 female students of the secondary.
The District Rotaract Representative Ayodeji Sobowale addressed the students about service to humanity and shared knowledge on Rotary, Rotaract and Interact while the guest speaker Oluwa, Enitan Sophie spoke on the topic “Embracing your Growth”.
The birthday celebrants Taiwo and Kehinde Oladosu expressed gratitude to God for the gift of life and cited it as the reason to mark the birthday with the students in unique way.
The donation of pads commenced immediately after the speech session and the project ended with photograph sessions.
