All children have the right to go to school and learn, regardless of who they are, where they live or how much money their family has.
Poverty remains one of the most obstinate barriers in Nigeria, with children from the poorest households almost five times more likely to be out of primary school than those from the richest.
In accordance to the Rotary family unflinching passion in Basic Education and Literacy, the Rotaract club of Akowonjo on the 21st of November embarked on THE SPONSORSHIP OF A STUDENT JUNIOR SECONDARY EDUCATION project.
The Rotaract club of Akowonjo revived the hopes of the family of an exceptional student of Anglican Junior Secondary School Ota Ogun state.

Lawal Odunayo, a student of Anglican Junior Secondary School Ota Ogun state who was supposed to join his mates to resume into JSS2 couldn’t achieve this as he had no option but to stay at home due to his widowed mom who is a petty trader couldn’t afford sending him back to school. It was disheartening seeing a young boy who was top of his Jss1 class stop his education due to poverty.
This was put to the knowledge of the club through one of our members who works in his school. This prompted a swift action from the club as a strong server of humanity in the initiative to sponsoring the education of this young boy. A school uniform and every material needed to enable his smooth learning from school bag to pen, notebooks, textbooks and others were given to the student. Which his tuition and others were duly paid for and this continue till he finish his Secondary school Education
It was fulfilling seeing a poverty ravished family happy once more. It was fulfilling rekindling the hopes of the future of a family. It was fulfilling to be serving humanity.
