HIGHLIGHTS OF THE 2020 ROTARY FOUNDATION SEMINAR

Without doubt the Rotary Foundation Seminar held on Thursday 26th November, 2020) was a success and this wouldn’t have been made possible without the support of our dear Rotaractors and Rotarians who attended both physically and online and the knowledge shared by our speakers PDG Kola Sodipo and DGN Omotunde Lawson.
It was a time to learn the concepts of Rotary Foundation and it was entirely impactful following the insight shared by DGN OMOTUNDE LAWSON on the Application for Global Grants as a Rotaractor, Rotaract Club and Rotaract District. She emphasize on the need to start donation to the account of TRF as Individual Rotaractors and as a club because that may be the only VALUE to leverage on by 2022 when Rotaract Clubs will be eligible to apply for Grants. She engaged participants full and was able to attend to all pressing questions.
The Second Speaker PDG KOLA SODIPO also shared the impact of TRF in our communities and explained the need for deliberate donation so as to continue to impact lives in our communities. He shared his thoughts on few projects that was done by Rotary Clubs in our district through Global Grant and has formed the basis for donation by Clubs and by Rotarians. He explained that whatever Rotary/Rotaract Clubs and Rotarians/Rotaractors are able to donate in a year comes back to the district in the next 3years by 50% and such funds are being made available for clubs to execute service projects through District Grants. It was an enjoyable moment with the PDG being a lover of youth at all times.
The DRR Adedeji Windapo also enlighten Participants on how to navigate through rotary.org and particularly how to donate to the Foundation though personal Rotary Account. It was a practical class that saw to few Rotaractors donate through their My Rotary Account and other making pledges for continued donation in the cause of the year and years to come.
The seminar yielded instant result as Rotaractors committed their funds on the spot for donation to TRF. The District was able to equally secure PHF recognition points for Rotaractors in-which modalities for Rotaractors to benefit shall be made available during the Rotary Foundation Dinner coming scheduled to hold alongside the District Collegiate Conference in the month January.
