First Council Meeting for Rotary Opens Opportunities 2020-2021

Council meetings are quarterly events organised and open for Club Presidents, Secretaries and Treasurers as council members to conduct good practices in a transparent and accountable way.
The effective and efficient conduct of meetings help move the District forward…

The Rotaract District held its first council meeting for the new Rotary year on Saturday, July 11th, 2020.

The meeting which was held both physically and on Zoom virtual platform to make sure no council member was left out as regards to the proceedings and plans by the District for the year; the session was well attended by Presidents, Secretaries and Treasurers of different clubs in the District and District Board of Directors. It turned out to be so impactful, interesting and with an all high tempo that comes with such meetings…

It was another avenue for the District Programme Directors and Chairs to present their plans to the Council after an initial in-house presentation last weekend at Piccadilly Suites in Lekki.

Council members made observations and asked questions after each presentation and each Chair/Director gave satisfactory responses.

As part of the recommitted effort towards prompt supervision, the council meeting also had in attendance the Rotary Youth Service Committee Chairperson, Rotarian (PAG) Busola Satuyi.

The meeting proceedings also had the election by the Opportunities Presidents to select a Captain and Assistant Captain for the Year.
The outcome of the election had Rtr. Isiak Eleto of Rotaract Club of Agege as the Captain and Rtr. Bukola Osakuade of Rotaract Club of Lagos as the Assistant Captain

The meeting was in high spirit and expectations, as all council members participated fully with observations and questions.

We look forward to the next council meeting in the next quarter of the year to discuss progress from all discussed yesterday.
