In collaboration with all Rotaract Clubs in Lagos and Ogun State Destitute Welfare/Palliative Materials distribution Proudly sponsored by ROTARIAN GONI ZAKARI

October 1st is a patriotic day for all Nigerians where we remember all the great sacrifice by our fallen heroes that got us independence. For us in Rotaract D9110 Nigeria, we celebrated our patriotic day by taken care of the most vulnerable people in our society.

We visited the Destitute Home at Okobaba Street, Ebute Metta which is home to all beggars in Lagos state, it is such a big community that has a governmental system already in place. Rotaractors from Lagos and Ogun state were present in mass. We flagged off the program with Sanitation exercise, cleaning the environment by sweeping and raking all dirts and debris around the community where and Rotaractors were actively involved.

Then we moved to unveiling of well decorated renovated shed for the women in the community. The shed where the women were before was nothing to write home about. The condition of the shed was bizarre. So we invited the Chairman, woman leader and the secretary who doubles as our interpreter. Presentations were made and leaders in community poured praises and appreciate the donations.

Lastly, we donated Food materials as palliative to all women in the community. There were alot of joy that filled there faces. Rotaractors brought in their used clothes which was donated aswell to the men in the community. The project is keen to promoting the effort of 2Rotary in ensuring a better society for all to live in regardless of status.

We want to appreciate specially our revered sponsor Rtn Goni Zakari aswell as all persons that contributed to the success of the Project.

Together we shall ensure a better and ONE NIGERIA through Rotary Service.
